Palace of Illusions

We live in a world where we are constantly tempted by world’s pleasures and the distractions lead us astray. And, the answer is we find it difficult to withdraw from the illusory pleasures that seduce and lead us to make another purchase! The vicious cycle goes on and we keep on sinking deeper. Be it another suit, a bigger diamond, a flashier car and bigger house. More and more is bought to create an impression in the society we live in. happiness in buying a bigger diamond or a bigger car is momentary as the comfort is the same. The car drives us from Point A to Point B, but the prestige projection is manifold. That is what we all are after.
The mind is the most powerful organ. In one moment it can transcend to the highest levels of happiness and love and sink to the lowest levels of despair leading one to commit suicide. It can make one timid, weak, and also give birth to fear insecurity. Once a lion cub was separated from its pride and it s mother. He was helpless and got attached to a flock of sheep, amongst the lambs he was raised by them. He started to identify himself with them, grew up to be afraid of dogs and also submitted himself to regular beatings from the shepherd. He knew nothing better. He did not know about his roar, his claws or how high he could jump. One day a lion passed by and he roared at them and tried to catch them, seeing another lion he passed by after roaring and snarling.
The lion cub was taken aback amongst the sheep and went to the water hole, seeing his reflection and identifying with the same he roared, and checked his claws.
He did all this with delight and ran away joining another pride and living amongst his own.
Like the lion cub, we create a self-image and we live according that and based on that we create a reality. If this identification is false, we live according to this falsehood. If the identification is true and pure and correct we live in the light of the truth. The mind in the same fashion creates our projections and we get caught in the rigmarole trying to live to others expectations. Indeed it is a palace of illusion
